5. Get Your Measurement ID

You're almost there! Once you create the data stream, a "Web stream details" page will appear. This page contains a crucial piece of information: your Measurement ID.

It will be in the top-right corner and will look like this:

G-XXXXXXXXXX

This ID is the unique identifier that links your Google Analytics property to your Wix website. Copy this ID. You will need it for the next and final steps in your Wix dashboard.

Connecting Google Analytics to Wix: Using the Marketing Integrations Tool

With your Measurement ID in hand, it's time to head back to your Wix site to complete the connection. Wix makes this process incredibly simple through its built-in tools.

  1. Log in to your Wix account and go to your site’s Dashboard.
  2. In the left-hand menu, find and click on Marketing & SEO.
  3. From the expanded options, select Marketing Integrations.
  4. You'll see a page with a gallery of tools you can connect. Find the box for Google Analytics and click the Connect button.
  5. On the next screen, click the Connect Google Analytics button in the top-right corner.
  6. A popup window will appear asking for your 'Google Analytics Measurement ID'. Paste the ID you copied earlier (the one that starts with 'G-') into the field.
  7. You'll see a checkbox for "IP Anonymization." It's best practice to leave this checked. This tells Google to anonymize the IP addresses of your visitors before storing them, which is an important step for privacy regulations like GDPR.
  8. Click Save.

If you don't see any activity, give it a few minutes. If it's still not working, double-check that you copied and pasted the Measurement ID without any extra spaces or typos.
